چکیده

InMulti User Multiple Input Single Output (MU-MISO) systems one centralized transmitter with multiple antennas serves several decentralized single-antenna receivers. Precoding is an attractive way to remove multiuser interferences because it reduces cost and power consumption in the user equipment. When implementing precoding, however, the base station should know the Channel State Information (CSI). In Frequency Division Duplex (FDD), this information is sent from the receivers by means of a feedback channel, whose data rate is often severely limited. In this paper we investigate the utilization of the Karhunen-Loève (KL) transform to compress the CSI sent through the feedback channel. We model the errors caused by channel estimation, truncation and quantization of the KL coefficients and feedback delay. This error modeling is the basic premise to design robust Tomlinson Harashima Precoding (THP) based on a sum Mean Square Error (MSE) criterion. Our results show that robust THP clearly outperforms conventional THP transmitting a minimum amount of information from the receivers.

Broadcast Channels with Delayed Finite-Rate Feedback: Predict or Observe?

Most multiuser precoding techniques require accurate transmitter channel state information (CSIT) to maintain orthogonality between the users. Such techniques have proven quite fragile in time-varying channels because the CSIT is inherently imperfect due to estimation and feedback delay, as well quantization noise. An alternative approach recently proposed by Maddah-Ali and Tse (MAT) allows for...

MMSE precoding for multiuser MISO downlink transmission with non-homogeneous user SNR conditions

This paper is concerned with linear precoding designs for multiuser downlink transmissions. We consider a multiple-input single-output (MISO) system with multiple single-antenna user equipment (UE) experiencing nonhomogeneous average signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions. The first part of this work examines different precoding schemes with perfect channel state information (CSI) and average S...

Quantized Precoding Techniques for Spatially Correlated Channels without Correlation Feedback

This thesis deals with the quantized precoding techniques for spatially correlated MISO (multiple-input single-output) channels. The transformed codebook, which has been proposed recently for correlated channel, has problem of loosing diversity despite using additional feedback for channel correlation matrix. In this thesis, an efficient algorithm to estimate the correlation matrix without addi...

Feedback channel designs for fair scheduling in MISO-OFDMA systems

In the next generation of wireless communication, adaptive resource allocation techniques will play an important role to improve quality of service and spectral efficiency. In order to employ adaptive fairness scheduling for multiple-input single-output (MISO) orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA), the channel state information (CSI) belonging to all users is required at the bas...
